Attorneys who have clients should attempt to arrive early with their client, so their case can be handled without them having to wait while the court is doing jail arraignments.
All jail cases will be handled in a timely manner.
There will be markings on the floor to aid the defendants, attorneys and Officer’s to keep the flow of defendants moving. Entrance and exit will be marked clearly.
Court Access Restricted:
- Everyone entering building must be free of fever as checked at door
- Everyone in building must wear a mask (new mask will be available)
- Everyone will be scanned for weapons
- Seating in court room will only be in designated spots.
Out of custody cases will be handled as follows:
- 10 persons maximum in the court room to allow for social distancing
- No extra people will be allowed in the court room period unless someone handicapped needs assistance.
- After the 10 persons limit is met, Officer at the door will take the name and cell number for others. They will wait in the car until called.
Upon action is completed by the Judge:
Parties for that case will exit court room to the back left to the clerk’s office, if needed, and then go outside the courthouse. Goal is to avoid contact with incoming defendants.
All entries, chairs, pens, etc. will be sanitized prior to the opening of court and periodically throughout the session.
