[ARCHIVED] MILLINGTON HOSTS VETERANS PARADE

MILLINGTON HOSTS VETERANS PARADE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MILLINGTON TN - The City of Millington invites everyone to join us as we honor our veterans at the annual Veterans Parade on Saturday, November 5, 2016. The parade will travel East along Navy Road from Newport to C Street. The parade will begin promptly at 10:30 am.

Navy Road will be closed from 9:30 am until the parade is complete. It is recommended that you and your families come early for a great parade viewing spot.

"It is an honor to coordinate the Veterans Parade each year to honor the heroes among us," said Kate Armitage, Director Millington Arts, Recreation and Parks. "We are a military community and are thrilled to have over 1,000 registered participants in the parade this year. That is almost 10% of Millington's entire population in the parade.  It's going to be a great parade. Please come out and show our veterans how grateful we are for their service," said Armitage.

Immediately following the parade VFW Post 7175 is hosting a community cookout at the VFW on Cuba Millington. Everyone is welcome to attend.
