MILLINGTON'S USA STADIUM WELCOMES WORLD SELECT TEAM
MILLINGTON, TN (OCTOBER 5, 2016) - The City of Millington welcomes the World Select Team to USA STADIUM October 8 - 9, 2016. The team will compete against Midwest Junior Colleges in Millington on Saturday and Sunday culminating with a game against the University of Memphis on Monday October 10, 2016. The World Select Team was created to give international baseball players greater opportunities and experiences. All players selected for the team are 16 -18 years old and part of their country's national baseball academy, sponsored by Major League Baseball. All players chosen for the World Select Team have been a part of their continent's Major League Baseball Elite Camp, which is considered to be the largest professional showcase and instruction event of the year. Instructors have included Hall of Famer Barry Larkin, Steve Finley, Greg Swindell, Gerald Perry and Lee Smith.
From Millington, the World Elite Team will travel to Phoenix, Arizona to compete in the Arizona Fall Classic, one of the premiere recruiting events of the year. For a complete game schedule, click the link below. For more information, call 901.873.5770.
