MILLINGTON NAMES NEW INTERIM MANAGER

MILLINGTON, TN (February 18, 2014) - The search is over. Millington's Mayor and Board of Aldermen unanimously approved Christopher Dorsey for the position of Interim City Manager. Eager to begin, Dorsey was approved last night and was on the job this morning working alongside Micheal Chesney. Chesney, who has served as Interim City Manager for the last 7 months will remain until the end of February to ensure a smooth transition before returning to his home and family in East Tennessee.

Dorsey holds a B. A. and M. A. in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. He served 6 years as City Manager for Red Bank, TN and most recently as Town Manager for Signal Mountain, TN. A Memphis native, Dorsey worked 14 years for the City of Memphis in a variety of positions including: Budget Manager, Budget Coordinator and Budget Analyst as well as Solid Waste Management Supervisor.

"Dorsey brings the experience Millington needs to effectively navigate the economic challenges that face us all as well as to position the City for economic growth and prosperity in the future," said Micheal Chesney. "His financial and operational expertise combined with proven leadership in Human Resources, Communications and Economic Development will serve Millington well," said Chesney.

"It is great to be in Millington," said Dorsey. "Millington is a vibrant and progressive place with lots of opportunity for growth. I look forward to working with the Department heads and employees and hitting the ground running," said Dorsey.
