The City of Millington will be releasing regular updates and information on the City of Millington Municipal Government Facebook page and the city website at www.millingtontn.gov Citizens may call City Hall between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM at 901-873-5701 or Millington Fire Administration between 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM at 901-873-5800 for specific questions or concerns. All requests for emergency assistance should dial 9-1-1.
Public Assistance
The City of Millington is not providing funds for food replacement or expenses related to storm damage.
All bottled water and Kroger gift cards offered by various agencies have been distributed. Additional offers are not expected at this time.

Excessive Heat Watch in effective from 7 AM CDT Thursday through Thursday evening
A few strong to severe thunderstorm are possible late tonight into early Thursday morning with damaging winds as the main threat
City Parks
All city parks are still closed for clean-up and remove debris. Crews are working to remove trees and hanging limbs so parks can be reopened. For your safety citizens are asked not to use parks or walking trails until all hazards are removed.
Traffic Signals at Intersections
Shelby Electric is finalizing repairs to all traffic signals damaged by the storm.
Millington Water & Sewer Service
Millington water and sewer service have not been affected by the storm
Sanitation Routes
- Sanitation crews are running regularly scheduled routes.
Sanitation & Discarded Food
Citizens who have lost food due to the power outage please follow these guidelines
- LAST DAY FOR SPECIAL PICK-UP OF DISCARDED FOOD IS FRIDAY, JULY, 14th
- Call City Hall weekdays 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM at 901-873-5701
- Advise city personnel you need a discarded food pick-up
- Advise if you need an additional container for discarded food
- Place discarded food in plastic trash bags and put bags in your city issued trash container.
- Due to weight restrictions of pick-up equipment please do not overfill container. Please fill container no more than half full.
- The City of Millington is not providing funds for the replacement of discarded food.

Debris Removal
Citizens are asked to get storm related debris moved to the curb ASAP. We are entering the final stages of debris removal. Storm debris needs to be at the curb or right of way for crews to pickup for disposal.
Debris Removal Guidelines
- Place debris at the edge of the curb or your property line
- Do not place debris in the roadway.
- Do not cover fire hydrants, water meter boxes, utility poles, parked vehicles, or mailboxes.
- Do not put household trash or anything else except trees and limbs in your debris pile.
- Crews will rotate through the city for debris pick-up 7 days per week.
Drivers, please use caution and drive slowly through areas where debris crews are working.
