MILLINGTON KICKS OFF 2014 BASEBALL, SOFTBALL & T-BALL SEASON

MILLINGTON, TENNESSEE (MAY 12, 2014) - An estimated 1000+ people gathered at USA Stadium Complex to officially kick off the 2014 Millington Arts, Recreation and Parks Baseball, Softball and T-ball season, thank the coaches, parents, sponsors and participants. With 387 children participating on 35 team, Millington ball fields will be bustling from now though the first week on July. This program provides Millington's youth a variety of benefits including physical exercise, fun, confidence and a sense of community. For many children, sports are the most natural way to begin cultivating a habit of excellence in their young lives.

The season began this past week with games at the Biloxi, Joyner & Miles complexes. Results below:
Monday’s action featured a ferocious comeback in the Pee Wee Division. The Boatwright Pharmacy Giants trailed 8-0 before rallying for a 9-8 victory over the Chris Ford State Farm Insurance Tigers.

Tuesday’s games featured the girls. The game of the night was in the girls coach pitch division where the Millington Animal Hospital Blue Angels defeated the Pink Fury 10-9.
