  • Having a Millington mailing address means that your mail is delivered through the Millington Post Office but does not mean that you live within the City Limits. The City provides water, sewer and sanitation services and requires citizens to obtain the services from the City where available. Applications and a service connection fee must be personally presented in City Hall at 7930 Nelson between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM. You may call 901.873.5701 for questions. Electricity and gas are only available from MLG&W, a regional public utility owned by the City of Memphis. MLG&W may also be reached at 901-820-7878.

  • A permit is required for any alteration or repair to a building, any new building, demolition, swimming pool, sign (new or face change), detached building, siding, windows, decks, and special events. Separate permits must be obtained for plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work.

  • If property is in a residential zone, the homeowner can apply for a building permit. In a commercial zone, a licensed contractor by the State of Tennessee must pull the permit. All of the following subcontractor permits must be pulled by licensed contractors of that trade: plumbing, electrical, mechanical & gas piping.

  • All sign work, including new signs and refacing, must be approved before any work begins. All sign permits must be approved by the Millington Planning Commission. The Planning Commission Meetings are held on the third Monday of every month at 6pm at City Hall in the Chamber Room.
