Sign Regulations
All signs must be permitted before installation. Each application must be approved by the Planning Commission before the permit is issued.  With approveal by the Planning Commission, Shelby County Code Enforcement will issue the sign permit and perform the required inspections. The Planning Commission meets on the 3rd Monday of every month. All permit applications, accompanied by a colored graphic with dimensions, must be submitted to the Millington City Hall the Friday prior to the Planning Commission meetings. The fee for sign permits are $50. See Christi  Roland at Millington City Hall when you present your application for processing. 

Banner permits can be obtained at Millington City Hall for a fee of $25. These permits can be issued to a business no more than five (5) times per year to advertise a new product or service. These permits expire in thirty (30) days from the date of issuance.  For stand-alone buildings, the banner may be up to 3 feet by 10 feet in size, not to exceed 30 square feet. For buildings that are part of a multi-tenant commercial complex or strip center, the banner may be up to 3 feet by 5 feet in size, not to exceed 15 square feet.

A new business, in addition to the allowed, permanent signage, may for a period of 30 days display one on-site banner, temporary ground, window or wall sign per street frontage.  Each allowed sign shall not exceed 30 square feet in face area. All banners are subject to approval.
