Residents of Millington are fortunate to have many services provided by the City and Shelby County located at City Hall. City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am ~ 5:00 pm except on posted holidays. Services available are:
Mayor's Office ~ Mayor Richard Hodges has an open door policy, however sometimes it is more convenient to set up an appointment to meet with him. To set up an appointment or schedule the Mayor to attend an event you can contact his executive assistant at City Hall or call (901) 872-6252.
City Clerk ~ The City Clerk is an appointed position voted on by your Board of Mayor and Alderman.
The City Clerk's office is charged with maintaining all of the cities official documents, such as the City Charter, ordinances, resolutions, minutes
of meetings, etc. Under the Tennessee Public Records Act these documents are available to all citizens.
The City Clerk's office is also responsible for providing agendas and documentation to the public for all meetings of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
Finance ~ The finance director is Bruce Rasmussen. This office is responsible for all budgetary issues, compliance issues, accounts payable and billing for the water/sewer/sanitation department.
Water/Sewer/Sanitation Payments ~ Payments are accepted at the counter during normal hours, or 24/7 with our convenient drop box located at the east end of our parking lot (between City Hall and the Fire Department Building).
The Water/Sewer/Sanitation bills are mailed out on the 1st of every month and are due by the 10th. The cut off date changes monthly, but normally falls on or after 20th.
Planning and Economic Development ~ The director for this department is Darek Baskin, P.E. This department works closely with the Millington Planning Commission along with numerous County agencies to ensure planned growth for our city.
Under the Planning and Economic Development Department is Building and Code Enforcement. All permits within the city are issued through this department. Code Enforcement handles issues like abandoned vehicles, uncut grass, and abandoned or non-permitted signs/banners, along with animal problems.
Shelby County Trustee ~ Collects current and delinquent taxes for Shelby County and some local municipalities to include the City of Millington. We are also able to accept Tax Relief applications and credit vouchers at this office.
